Arrive at Paro International Airport, one of the world's most scenic landings. Meet your guide and drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital. After check-in and some rest, begin exploring Bhutan's capital city.
Spend the day exploring the cultural highlights of Thimphu. Begin at the National Memorial Chorten, where locals gather daily for prayer and circumambulation. Continue to Buddha Dordenma, a giant Buddha statue overlooking the valley . Visit the Folk Heritage Museum to learn about traditional Bhutanese rural life, followed by a stop at the National Institute for Zorig Chusum where students train in Bhutan's traditional arts and crafts. End the day exploring the local handicrafts market.
Travel from Thimphu to Punakha, crossing the stunning Dochula Pass with its 108 memorial chortens and panoramic Himalayan views. Descend into the warm Punakha Valley. Walk through farmland and small villages to reach Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley , also known as the “Divine Madman”. Later , visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan, offering scenic views over the Pho Chhu River and surrounding valley .
Begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan's most beautiful fortress monasteries, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later , return to Thimphu, once again crossing Dochula Pass. After arriving in the capital, enjoy some free time to explore the town, browse local shops, or relax.
Drive to Paro Valley in the morning. Visit Rinpung Dzong, known for its traditional Bhutanese architecture, and the National Museum. Later in the day, take a gentle walk along the river or through nearby villages. The evening is free to explore Paro town or rest at your hotel.
Early morning hike to Paro Taktsang, one of Bhutan's most iconic monasteries. The temple is dramatically perched on a cliff 1000 metres above the Paro Valley and is an important pilgrimage site. In the evening, you may choose to experience a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath at your hotel or a local farmhouse (optional), a relaxing way to unwind after the hike.
Drive to Paro International Airport for your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be time for a short walk in Paro town before your transfer to the airport.
